Biography
Silvia Cutuli (b. 1988) is currently a Research Fellow at the University of Messina. She obtained a PhD in Greek Literature at the University of Palermo in March 2019, defending a thesis on the epic poet Panyassis. Her dissertation offers a critical edition and commentary on the testimonia and fragmenta of the Greek author, which will be published in the Sozomena series by De Gruyter. After completing her PhD, she was awarded a one-year postdoctoral fellowship (2021–2022). She is participating in the GROH Project (Greek and Roman Humanities Encyclopedia), working on entries related to ancient grammarians. Her research areas include the study of archaic epic poetry in fragments - also those transmitted by papyri - and its reception, the mythography of the Imperial period, the persistence and transformation of classical themes in contemporary Italian poetry, and the ancient exegesis of Callimachus’ Hymns.
