F. 129r contains the hypothesis to Book 10 of the Iliad, along with lines 1-13 accompanied by the corresponding Pseudo-Psellian paraphrase. This folio showcases various approaches to layout and the handling of exegetical material: notably, the more spacious line spacing and broader margins in the upper portion of the page where the introductory section is copied; the polychromatic initials; the ornamental headpiece adorned at either end with phytomorphic extensions; and the decorated alpha that opens the Homeric book, inhabited by zoomorphic elements — in this case, two confronting peacocks. Exegetical material of primary importance is also visible in the margins and between the lines. In the upper margin, an additional exegetical note appears, penned by one of the later scholars who annotated the manuscript in the 14th century.
