Biography

Claudio Meliadò (b. 1976) holds the position of Full Professor of Greek Language and Literature at the University of Messina. His research interests are centred on fragmentary epic, spanning from the Archaic to the Imperial period, Hellenistic poetry, the works of Aelian, and ancient scholarship. Presently, he is involved in the revision of the Supplementum Hellenisticum and in the study of Callimachean exegesis for the Commentaria et Lexica Graeca in Papyris reperta (CLGP). He serves on the Scientific Committee of Classica Vox: Rivista di studi umanistici (ISSN 2724-0169, since 2019), Filologia Antica e Moderna (ISSN 2612-3657, from 2024), and the Advisory Board of Provinciae Romanae. Interdisciplinary Journal on Roman Provinces (from 2024). Additionally, he is a member of the Editorial Board of Peloro: Rivista del Dottorato in Scienze storiche, archeologiche e filologiche dell’Università di Messina (ISSN 2499-8923) since 2016.

His principal publications include «E cantando danzerò». PLitGoodspeed 2, Introduzione, testo critico, tradu­zione e commento a cura di C.M., Dipartimento di Scienze dell’Antichità, Messina 2008 (Orione, 1), Scholia in Claudii Aeliani libros de natura animalium, edidit et apparatu critico instruxit C.
